We travelled through parts of Alaska (http://www.mytripjournal.com/burningfuel&p=1) and think of returning to live at least a year there but the darkness...not sure I can handle it...still..so beautiful. I count down the days to the solstice to get myself through the encroaching darkness. Although winter is still here in a vengeance for a long time after the solstice has come, it makes the waiting that less painful knowing that the days are growing longer again.
