A very nice picture. Has a good feel with the moon through the trees and the deep blue of the sky yet with enough of the sun to see the faint green of the trees, It may not be just what you wanted but it's still very very nice.

It's a beautiful picture...frame worthy even if it's not exactly what you were seeing (I know the feeling...I've taken pictures of some beautiful scenary and the picture still doesn't do it justice) - thank you for sharing it.

We travelled through parts of Alaska (http://www.mytripjournal.com/burningfuel&p=1) and think of returning to live at least a year there but the darkness...not sure I can handle it...still..so beautiful.

It's so interesting to hear you talk about the solstice, I think about winter the same way. I count down the days to the solstice to get myself through the encroaching darkness. Although winter is still here in a vengeance for a long time after the solstice has come, it makes the waiting that less painful knowing that the days are growing longer again. It's a beautiful picture. I'm glad you went back to the school to take it. Thanks for sharing. P.S. I'm a long time lurker.
