I've discussed these issues with my 6 y.o. but I agree, she sees things in terms of black and white. So it's a fine line to walk between hope and absolutes. My husband is an adoptee and can speak to some issues better than I can. I do wish that I had more concrete answers to give my daughter right now. With regard to searching, my question or where I keep running into dead ends is who to contact in China and I wonder if the SWI would be willing to help since they took the time to host a visit for families that included giving us the finding add, pictures of our daughters at only a few weeks old, the clothes they were found in, and other trinkets representative of their city.

That's a real can of worms you have. I think you are doing it the only way that is practical and the least to have emotional repercussions of major proportions down the world. The whole China Child Adoption Business is becoming more and more tangled and unsavory. Now we're hearing of gangs that steal children, mostly boys on order, for sale to orphanages to supply the child adoption market. Until the Chines finish their current investigations and cleans up the illegal side I wouldn't even want to try finding any info. There's lots of time yet, keep doing what you're doing and make her feel loved and safe with you.
