So I am a little late in commenting.... I went to school at YC in Prescott in the early 90's and can't believe how much Prescott has changed coming into town!

Phoenix is growing like crazy, and I don't like it one bit. We keep trying to move farther and farther out (we are out by the White Tanks now) and everything keeps catching up to us.

I'm about to do the drive from Los Angeles to El Paso, Texas that we do every Christmas. I can't wait for the huge open expanses between Los Angeles and Phoenix, and Tucson and Las Cruces. Phoenix is always a thorn in our side, though, seeing as we ALWAYS seem to hit traffic in Phoenix. But there is nothing like the Arizona desert, especially at twilight.

Hi, O;
Enjoy the sunshine while you can! Having been to Alaska I now know how gloomy it can be...

I've got a ghost town of McMansions, too. Built with very little practical planning adjacent to some hiking trails. It's weird to ride horses through that area of gorgeous homes, standing empty.

Merry Christmas

Ah I love that experience with Phoenix (NOT)

My folks moved out there in 1980. Then McCormick ranch was almost the edge of Scottsdale. Each time I go home, I wonder at the expansion.

We went out last Christmas to go riding in Cave Creek and I could not believe that almost the whole way from downtown Phoenix to Cave Creek was one large housing development.

Incredible change.

Where's the dotter?
