I am confused here. Dotter is 7 yrs old? And she misses her birth mother? How old was she when she came to live with you? Does she have any memories of her birth mother?

I only ask because I am a 45 yr old adoptee who would like to meet my bMom, but I don't now, and never have, "missed" her. [I also do not refer to the time when I finally do meet her as our "reunion" although I do understand how a birth mother might view such a meeting as a reunion.] Then again, I may just be a product of my era, born and adopted in the 1960s when adoption practices and beliefs were much different.

btw - I have an 8 yr old and I'm terribly impressed with that Rudolph, too.

I can't believe it's been almost 6 years since you brought her home.

I have no insight into the adoption part of this post, but I HAVE to comment on Rudolph - I am amazed. At first glance, hey, it's construction paper Rudolph. But then I noticed - the antler on the "other side" of Rudolph's head is actually coming up from the other side of his head. And it's smaller (presumably because it's further away).

Of course, this means she's a genius. Either that, or I'm reading way too much into Construction Paper Rudolph. But I prefer to think it's because she's obviously brilliant. ;)

That is a gorgeous Rudolph. Kate, I am constantly amazed at how fast she is growing and aging. I think this workshop will be great for her and for you. :)
