I tried to garden when we moved "to the country". Things were going very well - I think it was the peppers first - but I remember saying "tomorrow we shall pick you!" Well, tomorrow came and the critters had eaten the plants down to nothing. Rinse and repeat with the tomatoes, broccoli and whatever else I had tried to grow. We now container garden on the deck. I have the opposite problem, in that I expected to loose a certain percentage of my seedlings, and that did not happen. I need to look up homemade tomato sauce recipes. I know that deer are tiny pests compared to your moose behemoth, but I have really good luck with mothballs.
