Get a huge container of red pepper flakes or even just regular black pepper and spinkle it on and around your plants. I don't know about moose (mooses?) - but squirrels and rabbits hate it.

It was the only thing that saved my zucchini last year and it's kind of sadistically entertaining watching a squirrel have a sneezing fit!

HA! I found something for you:

http://www.mooseworld.com/warden.htm

"I know people get upset about moose eating their trees, but it's easier for them to try to prevent that than it is to try to remove the moose. The best way to keep moose away from trees is to put up wire fencing around the branches. Hanging mothballs in a cheesecloth bag from the trees can work, and some people have had success hanging up bars of Irish Spring soap."

Try moth balls. They stink like crazy but it's what I've heard keeps deer away. I know we used them when squirrels were chewing the wires in our van and, knock wood, they haven't been back since I spread moth balls in the gravel drive. I hope everything grows back for you. Damn Moose!
