I love it. OmegaDotter couldn't have better parents than you and OmegaDad. It's funny, now I think of the three of you with those names, I'll probably forget your real names by the next time I see all of you! Ha.

I loved this post.

I like that you're honest with your daughter and that you let her deal with her feelings openly. You and your husband are good parents. Thank you for loving this little girl.

I think it's lovely that you do this, wonderful how you handle it. OD clearly has confidence of place and family, and the unconditional love that lets her not forget how she and her family came to be.

Of all the things I struggle with to this day, it is the confusion of feeling, if that makes any sense. All the times I thought or felt something and was told no, no I didn't feel that way or shouldn't or didn't need to. It creates an arena of self-doubt.

The validation and unconditional love...best parenting out there, I think.

I think you are giving her a great gift by allowing her to connect, on some level, with her birth mother. I think some day she will thank you for it.

Happy Mother's Day.

I love the idea of writing her birthmother every MD and putting the letters in a special box. Very cool.
