Fun! (Right?!)I spent a few Christmases in Peru when I was a kid and on New Years Eve, there were fireworks displays everywhere. It was so much fun. Probably really dangerous too but I thought it was brilliant.

And that you, dear child, were raised in the uber-civilized City, not the more rural parts of America, where every kid gets to play with fireworks. Even I, once upon a time.

Sounds like a Northern thing. We have tons of fireworks here in the winter as well. My good friend got on the bandwagon last year and now it seems every event, including birthdays deserves fireworks. Not illegal here!
