Hi OMom,
Sorry to hear about your struggles with Great Grandma. And you're right, it's such a comfort to have your family around when faced with those kinds of challenges.

My girl misses her Daddy every day when he goes to work and he does travel overnight on business. Something that's working for us is that Kurt's made some home videos of him talking directly to Kelsey surrounded by her toys in her playroom where she knows its safe. He emphasizes that he'll call her every day and he'll be home soon to play.

ODotter is really adorable! And I too, love Joni Mitchell's Circle Game :)

Beautifully written post. I love "The Circle Game." You are really dealing with the two extreme ends of the life cycle here. It's a strange situation to be in. I'm sorry about Great Grandma.

That's a lot. A lot of emotion. Take care. I'm glad you have a great family to pull together.

(Can you email me...who?)

I am so sorry about grandmother. That's really hard.
And I am also sorry that the Dotter got confused on the trip. Sometimes, we fail to see life from their POV....

You sound quite sane in the midst of lots of stress. I find that if I neglect to explain anything out of the norm to LSP in advance, she creates wild scenarios in her mind. Sounds like I'll be doing lots of explaining for many years to come if she's anything like Omega Dotter. Good luck this week. Oh, and enjoy the extended daylight...!!!

I remember when you brought her home. I remember how happy everybody was for you. Poor little OD. I imagine it has been a rough time for her.

I was sorry as hell to hear about D.

I'm so sorry you're going through hard times. I can relate - and yes, thank goodness we have love to get us through these things. Explaining hard things to our children is such an act of love itself.
