Maybe next time I run into you it will be in the Anchorage airport this summer on my way to visit my sister! One of the reasons I think I enjoy your blog so much is that I also work in male dominated career (I'm a research scientist), our daughters are same age, and I've lived in the mtns north of Valley of the Death as well as I lived in Alaska for 2 years. It was both exciting and a bit frightening. Thankfully they were all pleasant encounters. If I saw you guys in an airport, I'd totally say hi! You are one of my favorite reads. I often think about you and your life and wish we lived in the same city. You seem like my kind of person.
