We finally decided against hibernation and spent the weekend stocking up on full-spectrum bulbs and vitamin D rich foods (milk apparently not enriched here). To lizard, thank you so much. I related this to her dad, who was vaguely enthusiastic about the idea (in an "Oh, that would be neat but would never really happen" kind of way), but he agreed with me that I would need several of those SAD lights.
