And no amount of me saying, through gritted teeth, "she can do it herself" will get him to stop helping. firm and consistent. hard. but it does work. Maybe you need to use the firm mommy voice with OmegaDad, too? I am also always amazed at how surprised daddies are when they try the firm and consistent, the solid NO, the I will buy you a spiderman backpack... and it works very well. they act shocked, and then don't apply the knowledge for aeons, while giving in to the whining and weeping. Oh, wait, that's just in this house.
