One…

posted in Holidays and Festivals |

…is the loneliest number.

We had ONE trick-or-treater here at the house.

Which makes me the more glad that OmegaDad scoped out the local Halloween scene with one of his coworkers, who has a 5-year-old also, and was invited to her house to trick-or-treat in her neighborhood, the Place To Be for Halloween.

Having suddenly come down with the collywobbles midday, I sent father and dotter off on various Halloween-y expeditions and stayed home.

And got ONE trick-or-treater.

Bah.

We have a few cute pics of dotter-as-kitty-cat, but they are on the other computer, which OmegaDad is playing with.  Tomorrow.

    We got… ZERO!

Well, I was pretty sure that’s how it would be. We’re on a pretty tiny little street that itsn’t really close to any other neighborhoods. I can’t see people walking here.

So, of course, I bought a bag of Milky Ways just in case. :-)

Can’t wait to see the pics!

We had three at my apartment- all from friends and nearby neighbors. We even carved a couple of pumpkins hoping to attract a few more this year. Oh, well. More candy for me, I guess! :)

Hey, your comment on my blog didn’t show up…now I am wondering what you were going to say. Unless you were just trying to let me know you’re “done” by leaving your name without any comment. ;)

We didn’t have many more than that. Or maybe we did. I answered the door three times by 6:30, then left the basket of candy on the stoop and went to join J and LSP. When we returned home, the basket was empty. But whether one or dozens of kids helped themselves, I’ll never know.

Collywobbles? Hope it’s nothing too serious…

We stopped by your mom’s house, but the lights were off on the stairs, so we didn’t go up…

I bought 350 pieces of candy and passed them out one at a time. I was out of candy by 6:10 pm. I then had to explain to many of my students why I didn’t have any treats for them when they rang my doorbell. I have never seen so many kids in my life. The weather here was ideal, daylight savings time kept it light later and I live on the main drag in a small village. People from 3 towns over were here last night. It’s a toss up whether it is better to be able to eat the candy you bought yourself or tell little kids that there is no candy at this house.

I have to apologize to Singing Bird & the Bee — I was tired when I got home from dinner & though I had plenty of goodies on hand, I didn’t turn on the front light. So no visitors. If I had known…I’d have baked that legendary cake. but my big excitement is the arrival any minute now of my bro from Perth down under in OZ; yesterday was the cleaning team & I even forgot that I had my weekly breakfast date this morning until I was awakened by a friend at the door with a quizzical look on his face…
