Like some of these other methods, the success of it depends on the contrast/detail qualities of the photo you're starting with. I gave it a quick try with Inkscape this morning using one of the Miss Kenya photos. Like some of these other methods, the success of it depends on the contrast/detail qualities of the photo you’re starting with. It is fairly easy though to tinker with what you get (deleting detail, adding small details etc..)
