Although I am consertive by party and nature, as the mother of four and grandmother to eight children, whth a great grandchild due to be born in September, I too sympathize and relate to the Mom in the vidio. This seems to be, as my old Gran used to say, “a tempest in a teapot.” Another great, old saying was “kids will be kids.” The Monks seem to feel that in the great scheme of things, the incident was trivial indeed.
What I find a bit scary is realizing that, as we go about our daily business, each of our lives is recorded for the potential scrutiny, critique, and disection by others across the globe.

What I didn’t mention in the previous post is that I figured the reason you didn’t tear the place apart is that you were bright kid who was casing the joint before proceeding to do whatever.

A genius saint at 2??? Huh??? The only individual who ever called you repressed that I recall was the Hyde Park pediatrician who thought you were repressed because you didn’t tear his waiting room apart. (FYI to those who are unaware: Hyde Park is the home to zillions of super-permissive Univ. of Chicago ultra-liberals.) Also, you committed the unpardonable sin of putting your arm out for a shot because I did & you were simply copying me. Fer heavens’ sake, you were even permitted tantrums — as long as you did them in your own space and not ours.

I watched the video. I agreed with you. The mom looked like she was in a hurry.

The comments reminded me of Monday. I took my girls (4.8 and 2.9) to the postoffice. I had 4 packages that HAD to get out. They looked at the items over at the wall while I waited in line. At one point, the 4.8 ran and the balloon on her arm hit a woman. I apologized, I had her apologize, yet the man in front of me (who cut in front of me) gave us the dirtiest look on the planet….
Some people just think that kids should be seen and not heard. Period.
