The Secret

Obviously, The Secret to getting blogging hits and comments is to sound pathetic and needy.  Don’t worry, folks, I’m not going anywhere–I just wanted to know if I needed to call my hosting service onto the carpet.  And I did wonder if I had said or done something to chase everyone off.

I’ll just chalk it up to attrition, as Blog Antagonist does, and to it being springtime and beautiful outside.

For those who mentioned it:  the comment box bothers the heck out of me, and I’ll try figuring out what’s funky in the CSS to see if I can fix it.

    I recently went to a private setting blog and I did lose quite a few readers. So while it’s not a huge surprise in that case it did make me wonder why some chose not to come along. We all write for our own reasons, and while I think it’s beneficial no matter the number of comments, when that section is empty, it is a bit disconcerting!

    I think you’re right about spring . . . less time spent at the keyboard all around!

    You didn’t offend me or anyone I know of. Still interested, just swamped. Oh yeah, and trying to have a life (gee).

    I am totally conflicted on this whole “number or readers” thing. It’s pure ego to me - why else would I want strangers to read about my family? And more and more people are taking their blogs private or are anonymizing them - concerned about the privacy of their kids (or their own).

    I’m considering doing something like this and I know that it will push my viewer number down a cliff…

    Very busy, I check in every day or so, but I do find that when I check the blogs I read every day or two and they don’t change, I will tend to go a bit longer between checks.

    mostly very busy.
