Playing with Corel Paint, I came up with a two-layer mat, very small inner mat of very pale rose, which picks up some of the rosy tones in the whites, with a medium grey outer mat. The end result is that the face pops. Now, to wait until I have the $$ to have it framed. It's amazing how expensive framing is! I've never been able to find a professional framer who will cut a painting with a signature on it. It's lovely... great find! I'd love to see what you end up doing with it. I have a small sculpture kind of thing (???) that is framed and it looks nice with very wide matting. Maybe that'll work. I'd hate to see you cut it if the value could go up at a later date.
