We interrupt the broken leg story (again)…

posted in Uncategorized |

Some people get told, when they want to adopt, “Why don’t you just get a cat?”

Some people, when they get told that they can’t adopt, just get a cat.

I have a five-week-old bundle of fur (finally) settled onto my lap, purring. He was, only a minute ago, up on my shoulder, mewing imperiously, and purring. He is now trying to attack my typing fingers. And purring.

The dotter is enchanted. So enchanted that we had to set a timer and tell her she had to leave the kitten alone for a while.

Anyone want to name a kitten?

Now he is back up on my shoulder and smushing his face into mine. And purring.

The story will continue this evening, I reeellly, truuuuly promise!

We’ve had 4 cats (and a couple of dogs to boot) for something like 11 yrs now. My daughter loves them but has known nothing else. There was no abrupt point of excitement since to her, they’ve always been around. Needless to say that she does fancy trying to put the odd necklace, scarf or pair of socks on them once in a while. ;) Plenty of lessons about respecting animals and all living things can be taught with the aid of a simple pet. Enjoy. And for what it’s worth, my naming vote goes for either ‘Smush’, ‘Midge’ or ‘Mr. Beardy-Chins’. ;)

Oh, we MUST see a picture before we can name a cat! For example, a black cat should be named after a jazz musician. A calico must have a name from Victorian or Pioneer days. Ya know. Besides, I want to see a picture!
